\fc0 noticed some .NextTrash folders appearing at the mount points for different devices. The contents of these .NextTrash directories are folders named after and owned by various user names. What is causing this to happen and is it safe to remove them?\

A: Although it might be an interesting way to record who goes snooping through things, these folders are Workspace leftovers. When you start browsing a new device, the Workspace looks to see if certain operations (such as trashing) are enabled. A regrettable side effect is to create a trash folder if there is none and if you have write access to that device. The Workspace should be more lazy about it and not create a new trash folder until you really trash something. You can safely remove the folders.
